My child has auditory processing, visual processing and sensory integration problems. The school district's in Riverside County are not effective enough to assist him in getting him up to grade level. Knowing that public schools fail children with special needs, where can I find help for someone with these needs?
(I do not have the income for loans or private schools. Is there anything, anyone or anywhere I can go to get help?) (Inland Valley, UCLA and CCS cannot assist him. He does not fall into any of the categories that they assist with.)

Do you have anything in your area that offers a referral service? In my area we have a place called Information and Referral and they can tell you how to do a lot of things there.

Other than that, the other suggestion I have is to contact anyone and everyone that deals in the areas that your son has problems in and ask them for suggestions and referrals. When we found out that my niece had asperger's, we called everyone we could think of (starting with her primary doctor) and we couldn't believe how much information and the amount of ideas we got. It wouldn't hurt to try that.

I agree with you about public school. They do not attend the specific needs of some children and the kids miss out because of it. We did find a local, private school here that (it is a Christian-based church/school) offers financial aid for the kids. That was a great help.

I wish you the best of luck. I know how frustrating it can be. Just do not give up. There is help out there. Sometimes it takes a bit of work and aggrivation, but you can find it.
