So I'm taking this Mexican-American History class, and I need help with an assignment. Here is the prompt for the paper I need to write:

"you are given TWO OPPOSITE ROLES during a specific historical period. Write a letter as each one of those individuals, explaining your actions, your alternative motivations, and your expectations concerning the other character. This assignment is basically a work of imagination, but it is also a test your understanding of the material studied. Thus, your paper must reflect historical events as they could have been perceived by the individuals living in that society."

So from all the options I picked "WWII: Mexican Bracero / Mexican-American soldier." Now, I understand how the whole bracero program worked and what were some issues related to it, but I really dont have anything to go on with the mexican-american soldiers. I mean, how are they opposite to each other? did they actually have any ideas or practices that were opposite of each other? or are their circumstances what make them opposite. becuz while the mexican american fought in the war and got veteran privileges, the mexican bracero was sent back to mexico and never got his retirement money bcuz the corrupt mexican govt stole it, even though he had helped the american work force. what do you guys think?
