Help with chemistry/math homework?

this is chemistry class, but this assignment is more math related, haha.
sorry, please bear with my wordiness...

In a chem lab, I had to measure the area(mm?) and mass(grams) of 5 regular paper shapes (4 sided)

The mass of a blob looking paper shape is 8.7grams. I have to use the linear fit equation from a graph of the 5 regular shapes data to find the area of the blob paper shape.

This is where I'm stumped... my linear fit equation looks like this:

y=mx+b
m(Slope): 0.830 grams/mm?
b(Y-intercept): -0.430 grams

where y = mass, and the unknown x = area

I know I'm getting weird answers because I'm using grams and mm? in the same equation... I don't know what to do with these numbers. How do I set up the problem to find the area?
