I just got the Canon 550D today (super pumped!!!) and i was testing out the Auto mode. Almost every time I tried to shoot indoors, the flash automatically popped up. Like most photographers, I find flash to be (most of the time) really unattractive. But when I put the flash down, it pops up again.
So I've started just using Aperture priority or Shutter speed priority because the flash doesn't pop up and I get great photos. However, I do want to use Auto, just without the flash. I guess I could disable it, but I want to ask Canon users (or DSLR users in general) if you guys usually disable the flash?
Sorry if I don't sound experienced. This is my first DSLR.
