HELP WITH APPS TO HTC?

okay so iv gone to a site that i downloaded apps from and i downloaded them to my computer then it says just drag to your phone but what file do i put it in iv put it in downloads once and it didnt show up on my phone so what file or place do i put it in so my phone regonises the apps and lets me play them?
