Help with a Sony Ericsson ??? ?

I've recently got the Sony Ericsson Xperia x8 (3 days ago) but I can't have it till christmas.

I was wondering will it Be running android 2.1 when I open it on Christmas or will it only Be 1.6???

And if it is 1.6, when will the update for 2.1 Be available ????
