say that two friends decide to split the cost of a book to share in a class. Later on throughout the semester, they realize that another of the same book is necessary because it needs to be turned into the teacher and only the original copy coud be turned in by each individual student. One of the friends (A) decides to take the book and says that he'll reimburse the other friend (B) for the cost (but he has not done so yet). The person who didnt take the book (B) goes out and singely buys another of the same book. Even later throughout the semester, they realize that they both have the wrong copies of the book that needs to be turned in. Friend B was able to promptly return the book for a refund. Friend A is unable to as its been too long. Does friend A still owe friend B the money that he never owed?
Would it be likely that friend A would be willing to pay for half the cost of friend B's newly purchased book if it were nonreturnable?
this is a real and recent situation that needs assistance in closure.
