I have a very good friend that cuts herself, and I'm looking for a little advice.. Please read my full question first, because she doesn't do it for the usual reasons.
I've talked to her for countless hours about it, so hopefully I can explain it good enough.
She does do it because of deep emotional pain, but only sometimes. It scared me to hear it at first, but she also does it simply because it feels good to her. Not only cutting, but other minor things to inflict small amounts of pain.
So my question is this: Why should she stop, if it feels good to her?
Assuming she won't cut too deep, what could happen? Assuming anything she uses is "clean".
I know it's easily possible for something that seems clean to cause infections, etc. but we've talked about this and it doesn't really bother her. So I need other reasons..
Thank you for any advice
