...light? My Focus is having issues. I need help.
We drove it 3 1/2 hours the other day, near the end of our trip it started running especially rough, and the battery light came on and blinked and kept doing that for awhile. The battery light came on and wouldn't go off and after while it died completely. We just had done some work to the car so we thought the battery was dead. (which was weird seeing as though we just drove it over 3 hours..) We got a new battery but when we were almost home the light came back on. We took it to a garage and ended up getting a new alternator because basically the battery just wasn't being charged. Now the battery light is off and that problem SEEMS to be solved.
NOW, the check engine light comes on and will stay on for a couple minutes, then blink for a couple minutes, then go off. Then repeat. The car is idling REALLY rough, it feels like it might stall although it hasn't. Also, it feels like it has no power when I push the gas.
Does anyone know anything about this? What could it be?
And where could I go to get a free "diagnostic test" for my car? The thing they hook it up to and find the code that is making the light go on a blink?
