Help with a 1986 4x4 Toyota Pick Up?

I have a 1986 Toyota 4x4 pick up. When I start it some times I have to push on the gas a little to get it started. Also when I come to a complete stop some times it will die. Even when I am stopped once in awhile the RPMs will drop and it will die. I have tried using carburetor cleaner which helps for a little bit. Any suggestions?
