help with 2 films

i know this will be a bit vauge but someone might know what the films are called, cheers in advance and no i am not mad

film 1
is a true storey about a family with an alcoholic farther, one night when the dad pulls up in the car drunk the son is behind the bin with a gun and shoots his father dead, for some reason the boy blew a whistle before he shot the gun? anyway at the end the lad gets away with is because of the years of abuse they had all been threw

film 2
is a horror, they get trapped in the house. at first seems solid ice around the house, at one point green slime comes down the chimney, in the end u find out it was a dolls house that a little boy put in a freezer and the green slime was a green lolly pop the lad had left on the chimney?

No idea, but that second one sounRAB like it would just about make a half hour episode of the Twilight Zone. If I saw that twist in a film I'd be demanding my money back.

I know the 2nd one!

I remembered this from years ago and for years before i got the internet it was bugging me as to where i could find it.

I remember it being called 'Child's Play' (nothing to do with the Chucky films) and after loaRAB of investigating it turns out it was an episode from the 1980's TV show called Hammer House of Mystery and Suspense, which was an American spin-off i believe from Hammer House of Horror.

You can get the box sets on DVD, think this episodes in box set 2.

Saw it recently, extremely dated but definately worth watching for the twist end, although somewhat unbelievable it's a good ride mostly.

wow mate good detective work it was out in 1984 so i must of been about 7/8 when i watched it no wonder it stook in my head
