help with 1996 pontiac sunfire gt with automatic transmission.?

ok so 2 days ago someone tried to steal my car and they (i think) jammed and got something stuck in the ignition. everything is locked up including the steering wheel, the shifter and the whole ignition. i have tried everything i know and cant seem to be able to get anywhere with it. is there a way i could disassemble the ignition and see if there is something possibly holding one of the pins in. i dont even know how to take the ignition out. and im kinda broke so i need to fix it myself. please someone help me. im carless till i get this fixed. thank you for any help at all
