Help! Why are all my youtube videos and other web downloads now downloading as .flv?

Ever since I downloaded this AVS program that converts video formats, my youtube downloads have all turned into flv files. I never requested for this to happen. I just need avs for a specific file. But somehow ever since all my downloads have turned into flv, and anything i wish to downlad from the web is flv. I hate this.
Why are all my downloads automatically coming down as flv files? please help me change this!
I use Windows 7, please tell me exact details on how to change everything back to default in the way all my videos play and download from the web. I uninstalled avs already.
 
AVS is making your computer do that. Change the .flv file type to be used only by AVS in the options for AVS and uncheck all other file types. Then all the other files types need to be changed to use only the programs you specify. This is easy to do with Windows XP in the control panel, folder options and file types tab.

For Windows 7, Google it.
