Help updating a T-mobile G2?

Can someone help me update my Tmobile G2?
are there and idiot proof instructions as to how i should go about updating from like 1.5 to the latest?
im not a technophobe but im not the greatest with computers and phone and i dont know all the jargon so if someone could help that would be great

also i realise there are other threads with similar but i couldnt find any instructions simple enough
although i may be missing some thread so any links to threads or anything would be helpful thanks

Firmware Version - 1.5
Software Version - 1.0.0.A6288

G2? There actually is no phone named the G2. Do you mean the MyTouch, Cliq or Behold 2? I assumed you meant the MyTouch, but all of those should come with Android 1.6 pre-installed.
 
if you want to be technical its the htc hero but its sold by tmobile with android instead of windows mobile and is called the t-mobile G2 touch

If you want to be really really technical, the handset is an HTC Hero. The HTC Hero is re-branded by T-Mobile in the UK, Netherlands, Austria, Hungary, Croatia, and Germany, as the T-Mobile G2 Touch. It is also rebranded as Era G2 Touch in Poland. As such, it is often called just the "G2".

In the U.S. the mobile network Sprint picked up an exclusive deal to sell the handset, so T-Mobile couldn't re-brand it and sell it as the T-Mobile G2 in the U.S.

I'm not sure where "Android instead of Windows Mobile" comes from. The HTC Hero has always ran Android.
