help, trying to play old game for PC?

it is an older game, made in 1995, i think it may have ran in MSDOS mode.

anyway, when i try to install it with the setup.exe file, the black command prompt comes up for only a second and disappears. nothing seems to be working

it ran on windows 95, can it work on xp?
