Help??? T-Mobile galaxy s2?

My screen brightness is all the way up but whenever I'm on the internet the screen dims. When I go back to my home screen or anything else. It goes back to normal. Power saving mode isn't on. Any help?? I just did a master reset. Since then this has been happening. I can't find any settings in my internet. Oh and my auto brightness thing isn't on. Help!! Someone told me it needs to be updated but when I try it says "no firmware"soooooo???? My android thing is 2.3.6
