Help syncing music onto my phone using Mac

I am new to the phone and to the forum, hopefully i have posted this thread in the right place but here goes. I have just got my Nokia Lumia 800 phone today, got home and tried to sync my music onto the phone i have downloaded the windows 7 phone connector, when i select the "music" icon on the left hand side panel, i get the list of all my music which is normal but after i have selected all of my music i click sync and nothing happens... have i missed something or is there anything else needed to be downloaded?
