I have a quiz in Physics coming up, and I just need help with a couple of practice problems. i have the correct answers to these problems, but I don't know the solution. Please help me by providing the solutions, so that I can study them. Here are the problems:
1.) A car moving at the constant velocity of 13.5m/s passes a police station. Two seconds later, a police car leaves the station and accelerates at a constant rate of 1.8m/s^2.
a.) How soon will the police car overtake the car?
b.) How far has the police car traveled?
c.) What is the velocity of the police car as it overtakes the car?
2.) A stone is dropped at a captive balloon at an elevation of 305m. Two seconds later another stone is thrown upward from the ground with an initial velocity of 75m/s. When and where will the stone pass each other?
Thank you in advance.
