HELP SOLVE A DEBATE: The Strength of a Baby's Umbilical Cord.?

I know this may sound a little sick, but my friends and I were debating on the strength of a baby's umbilical cord. I say it's strong enough to support the baby if a person is holding the newborn baby solely from the cord. They say that it will snap and the baby will hit the ground. So truly, how strong is it?
 
i'd say it is pretty strong. it might be extremely uncomfortable for the baby to dangle from it though. otherwise it is very attached and it is very hard to cut when it is.
