i am charged with theft and tools of theft. i was at the mall with some friends and they were pocketing like crazy. i have never taken anything in my life. at the end of our trip i made a regrettable mistake and put a bra in one of my shopping bags. i was confronted before i even left the store. (under $10) I'm only 18 years old and pregnant. i am terrified of jail. should i go with a public defender or should i work something out w.the prosecutor. this is my first offense. please help!
