HELP! Sharp Knee Pain??!?

I have been going to a Chiropractor for 3 months. And she has me going twice a week. The reason being is due to my lower back, and left knee. About 3 months ago i got a really bad lower back pain mainly on my lower right side and was not able to go to sleep that night and due to that i was getting a sharp pain on my left knee. I was not able to run and not even able to walk without my knee hurting. I am 21 and don't understand why i would be having these issues this early in life? So the next day i started attending this chiropractor before the first adjustment she explained that because my lower back was out of place (pelvis) and because of that it was putting pressure on my left knee. Even before the first adjustment she was already recommending to do a 3-6month treatment!? I explained to her that im a runner and wanted to work on my knee to get back to running. She said that for my left knee to heal we had to get my lower back (pelvis) adjusted and treated. I have been getting cold laser therapy on my left knee every time i get adjusted. And till this day i still have that sharp pain on my knee. It goes away and comes back.. What confuses me is that she has never had an x-ray done on me? And when i ask her she will keep saying that it will heal and that this could be years of damage and its not going to take this little amount of time to fix??? Every time i try to explain myself i feel like she doesn't have time to listen? Im in and out of the adjustment room in about 5minutes?! Ive noticed that she try's to get everyone in and out ASAP! So ive had to do my research on my own.. And from what i have found i have asked her a couple of questions one of them if i might have a longer leg? She said no? And not one time has my pelvis stayed adjusted until my next visit? Thats only a couple days apart?! My "TREATMENT" is almost over and no x-rays, mri, nothing! I honestly don't know if she is waiting for the treatment to be over and recommend me another 3 month treatment?!!!? WHAT SHOULD I DO NOW?..

chiropractors have their place. knee therapy is not one of them. go to an orthopedic surgeon. if you wish to continue running; i would seriously do this. x rays will not show soft tissue damage. i went to the family doc for knee pain. he put me on steroids for three days. it worked. he also referred me to an orthopedic surgeon if the pain returned. go directly to an orthopedic surgeon. you will not be sorry you did.
