Help! Rocky Balboa Rating

Dont waste your time going to see it!

Waste of time. Boring film where nothing happens until the fight scene which itself is a big let down....

Very disappointed....
 
I think you have to be of a certain age to really 'get' what Stallone is saying in this movie even if he does look like a character from Dick Tracey in it. Nothing much happened out of the ring in the remaining Rocky movies did it?
 
All the reviews i've read about it says that it is excellent and the best one since the first one. but anyone expecting wall to wall fight scenes will be highly disappointed, apparently it's more of a "character piece" giving closure on all the characters and what they've done.

Personally i can't wait for it, as long as it's got a good story with strong characters i think i'll like it. Oh yeah, and he better shout "Yo, Adrieeeennn" at the end, lol.

One final thing though, if the only time you've heard the Rocky theme is during those bloody annoying 118 118 adverts then obviously you are too young to remember, and shouldn't bother seeing it, it's nostalgic.
 
I'm rather looking forward to it myself and will be seeing it one way or another as soon as I can.


The fact that it doesn't seem to appeal to people whose detailed critique of a movie extenRAB to "It's rubbish" and "It's boring" doesn't really seem to put me off that much ;)

Movie is an art form.
 
i liked it, but it wasn't great....

all the other films had rocky fighting some one you could hate,someone you could think "go on rocky smash his face in". you just didn't get the same feeling in this one. there was no reason to hate mason dixon.

also for a rocky film i thought the fight was a little too realistic, he wasn't the fighter he once was and i think that was what made the other films exciting. you really did get the sense you were watching an old man on screen.
i found the end of the fight a little bit of an anti climax.

i also missed adrian and thought the almost love intreast
bit was put in as a bit of a filler and some scenes were probably meant to be between him and his wife but had to be rewritten when the actress decied not to take part.
 
i cant wait to see it sly stallone is my fav actor i love him to bits have done since i was little and rambo came out i cant wait till i see it. i think it ill be good to find out what happened to all the people in rocky.
 
I really liked the film, I thought Sly wrote a very good script. This is not an action film and if that's what you want go and see MI 3, the story about a man who feels he has lost a lot in life but can still achieve. It bought a lot together to complete the Rocky story.
 
good performance by sly, he played kinda the character he played in copland which is a great film. kinda 3 time loser who wanted to be someone, with a wray sense of humour, kinda liked that about it!
 
A very good movie. I saw earlier someone say Talia Shire (Adrian) had decided not to take part in the movie, this is infact false as she signed up to do the film but the script went in another direction.

I thought it gave a good story that life moves on and people move on, no need to dwell on the past.
 
I enjoyed this film myself, probably because I wasn't expecting much after Rocky 5. Stallone suprised me and whilst it won't exactly win an Oscar it is still good mindless entertainment.
