Hi,
First post. I am 47 non smoker weight 282 diabetic, have had 4 stress tests, last one about 13mos ago no problems found. sit alot at work, but walk about 2 miles 3-4 days aweek for last 3 months on and off. never really out of breath more than my wife who runs sometimes and laps me. no chest pain... 3 weeks ago we started running about a hundred yards then walking 200 then running again did this a few days, then I got serious pain in lower back right at crack of buttocks and to each side, I would try to get up from setting and it would catch and pain would shoot down legs and I would have to straighten up slowly this happened for about 3 days I slept with ice bag then heatng pad eventually let up and doesnt hurt as bad now,still catches if I get up fast, but when I sit my hips and legs ache, it feels like my hamstrings and outer calves are burning, and when we try to walk my lower legs are on fire now. I still make it the two miles but they hurt 50 yards into the walk on the first small hill til I get back home. feels like a band is tightened around my hips and my walk seems funny to me, but wife says I look normal. Told Dr. he scheduled me for an ABI test. I want all your opinions. could it be PAD? or is it my back, I tried to stretch by leaning backwards and my tailbone/ lower back cracked so loud my wife heard it, has done this 3-4 times now. ABI test is in 2 weeks. What do you guys think.
