I turned on my hair straightener and it smelled funny, and when I went to straighten my hair, as soon as it touched my hair it sizzled. My hair didn't burn or anything but I pulled the hair straightener away right away and unplugged it. I cleaned it off with a wipe because there seemed to be a large smear on one side that could've been grease?
Did I clean it the right way? Why was it sizzling and should I use it again? Is it because of the hair protectant I put in (I put it in all the time though).
