Well, you should define your terms. What do you mean by the term "oil" and define both "use" and "conserve".

Petroleum (Gr: Rock Oil) is a long chain hydrocarbon. It is a cheap, available source of "portable", storable, energy. It is being used to run all of the economies on this Global.

Should we conserve "oils" Well, we should conserve all resources and assets --- take only what you need and use it wisely.

So what is the rest of your homework question.

A friend of mine once said the best answer i can think of "What we really need to do is half the number of people and double the number of trees." He was right and he is british, so i know that he cant make this stuff up.

But in a real world, we need to simply be realistic in our daily lives. There is not a single person that cant get by in a happy daily life with a simple sedan. Sure, some people think they need a bigger car for their life but really its all just what we are used to. If there were no SUVS than we would not miss them. The same goes for things like showers and other water based issues. Taking a 20 minute shower is something that people don't think about most of the time. But we have not only an oil shortage (oil gives the power to get you water) but are approaching a global water shortage. Yeah, its scary but its freaking true! I'm not saying that you should never drive or shower or eat or anything like that. Just do what you have to and don't go crazy.

Take that one to heart and good luck with the project.
