Hi,

I'm new here.....i know where have i been....
Anyways, i have diabetes insipidus or an auto immune deficiency or something like that. I have had it for 6 - 7 years now.

I have had an inflamed pituitary gland, and am currently am not creating enough hgh (human growth hormone) making it a lot harder to lose weight and gain any muscle.

My question is, since my pituitary gland is not producing enough hgh, can i use a hgh releaser to stimulate the gland to produce more??

Thanks,
Frustrated.....

Regarding the GH deficiency, in adults the growth plates of the bone-enRAB (epiphyses) are closed, and they will not grow in height anymore. Actially the GH levels in adults are pretty small, they only rise during low blood sugar, or vigurous exercise.

I dont know where did U get the idea about GH releasing hormone, it's not used therapeutically. U should be aware, that GH antagonizes insulin and this might cause diabetes mellitus. PLUS the treatment with GH is really expensive.

Another problem, if U do have a pituitary adenoma U should undergo operation for removal of the tumor, because if it keeps growing, it might for example push against the optic chiasm and U might loose your vision.
