Help Picking A Phone for Sprint

hey everyone, I am getting my girlfriend a new phone for christmas because hers is beaten up and potentially lost. She needs a smartphone. I've heard her say that she wants her next phone to be small enough that she can carry it around in her pocket (because bigger phones don't really fit into girl's jeans pockets). I was thinking maybe the Pre (not too sure about the size) or the Pixi (although I've heard that it may just be better to get the Pre). I'm open to all suggestions as long as it's a phone on sprint that she can use to get email/browse the web/gchat. Thanks!

Pixi sounds like the perfect gift phone but the Pre is being priced so cheap nowadays you may as well just for the Pre.

HTC Hero ya? I'd go for the Pre too, I wouldn't bother with the Pixi unless you're getting it for way less than what Sprint sells it for.
