help - phone calls in Detroit area

Hello,

My brother is having a bit of a problem making phone calls in the Detroit area. He lives in Ann Arbor, but frequently goes through Detroit. He is using an unlocked 8700 on T-Mo with no data plan. He just uses it as a phone and for texting. When he is in the Detroit area, he can send and receive SMS, but he cannot make or receive a phone call. Any ideas or suggestions? Anybody ever hear of a similar experiences?

what he needs to do is re-register his network manually, by picking the source of connection, in the detroit area here, your going to have the options for Cingular and T-Mobile, over in Ann Arbor, you'll be able to pick up Indigo Wireless and Cingular and TMO, so what he's going to have to do is manually select another Carrier, and then re-select TMO, but he also has to make a phone call from Cingular, then switch back...


Its testing the network process of the phone.
