I have £150 or slightly over to spend on a hiking coat and i need it to be made of Gortex and have a few pockets on it. i've looked at The North Face and Burghaus and nothing stands out to me. Suggestions on any decent coats ?

goretex for 150 pound y'reckon.
dunno about that, but i have one made by Outdoor Research (OR). it's chinese made but it's waterproof. the microzips are shite, it doesn't have any kind of tail on it, so the water sheds straight down the back of my pants. the hood has been designed badly as when it's loose water drips in down the sides.
overall i prefer the one i got 8 years ago, but it's just not waterproof anymore.(one made by Macpac IN new zealand, they went offshore and now their gear is shite.) curses upon china. oh, plus the pockets are in stupid places (like on the chest right under where the top strap of your pack would be...did anyone think about this or did they just tell the kids to go and sew something that resembled a raincoat) and all have that microzip thing happening.
so i duess my reccomendation is dont get one from OR.
