Help on new phone choice, BlackJack or Blackberry Pearl?

Well I decided I wanted an upgrade from my Nokia 6620. I originally wanted the BlackJack, but heard some negative things about it, and saw a lot of good things said about the Pearl.

Really the only thing I didnt like about the pearl when i played with it was I thought the screen was kind of small, but thats it. I also noticed it doesnt have 3G capability, now I have no idea about what 3G is so any info on that would be great, like what its for, and if its costs any more monthly.

I mainly use my phone for Voice, and text messaging. I play games a lot on it at work, and I like the fact that they both have video and mp3 playback.

Basically what i'm getting at, is there a clear "better phone" between the two? Does either perform much better than the other? Thanks in advance everyone.
 
In general, the pearl is better at messaging/email, and the blackjack is better at multimedia stuff. If you want to browse the internet at the fastest speeds, you will want to go with the blackjack because it has 3G. The pearl has EDGE data speeds, but the 3G is going to be faster. Especially if you like to stream music and videos. Both are pretty equal when it comes to phone features. Also, you will want to play around with both keyboards. The pearl's keyboard is considerably different than the full qwerty keyboard on the blackjack.
