My girlfriends car, (a 2001 pontiac sunfire) has been having alot of problems with her cluster gauge.
While she is driving the speedometer and thermostat and gas gauges all drop down like the car got shut off. Then will all go back on all at the same time. also all the dash lights go on and off, such as the airbag light, check engine light, the abs light ect..
As well as the headlights, they flicker and its really dangerous cuz they are not bright and you can barly see them at night.
The odometer just resently started to say error. and the radio as well, if she can get it to work.
Oh ya and the car beeps like as if the door was open or it was overheating. Then it like cuts out and back in it sounds like a broken record. Its very annoying.
I have no idea what could be wrong with it. We had the battery changed because the cells were bad and it was corroding badly. The neg ground cable i had to replace too because it was so corroded. I want to say that the whole wiring system has been corroded but my friend who is a mech saids its the cluster gauge.
He also said there might be a recall or something because pontiac has had problems like this before.
whats wrong with it??
