I think my phone dislikes me. . . .

I had my 6620 for a year now, personally I love it really nice and I jus recently ordered a bluetooth headser for it =D. But for the time being I have been unable to connect via GPRS with any 3rd party applications.

I have only been able to use the built in nokia web browser on it, whenever I tried to use Opera, Google Maps, Agile Messenger or such it wont work! I been using ebuddy.com for instant messaging, but I also wish to use more applications on this phone, especialy since VoIP for symbian phones is very A++

Well, thanks in advance anybody, it will make me very happy If there is anyway I can get this phone working on the interwebs =D

Btw, I forgot to mention--My Phone carrier is T-mobile U.S.A. This is not a OEM phone, not Carrier branded nor sold thru a carrier. I also have the 5.99$ Tzones plan from them. I remember Opera and Google Maps working on my old 3320 before it got stolen (kind of miss those lights ) So when I got this I thought I could immedltey use it but I couldnt >-

What I've heard is that the current 5.99 T-mobile plan does not allow data transfer. Earlier it did, which might explain why you old phone did work with Opera. I dont quite know why the built in Nokia browser works though. It might be that you are only accessing WAPsites, and not "proper" internet sites?

The only solution to get Opera to work as far as I know is to get the 20 $ T-Moile data plan...

Some users are able to get around this limitation by using the proxy but even that is hit and miss. For info on the proxy check the T-Mobile wiki on hofo. If it doesn't work you'll need to upgrade to the total internet package.

I have connection issues from time to time. It happens with opera, opera mini, google maps, symella, and a few others that I am most likely forgetting at the moment.

Basically, the application loads, yet never tries to connect. Some are set to auto-connect, and they just never get around to trying. I have changed some to ask for a connection so that I have to manually tell it to connect, though sometimes that even fails to work.

It's annoying, but my current workaround is to load up the wap browser and have that connect, then open the other application. It will just use the open connection that it sees.

Check your connection settings > just the general one for connectivity: GSM or GSM & GPRS.

Go basic first then get deeper in the settings. by the way reboot your phone for the settings to take affect especially for APN's that have changed.
