HELP: no Android devices associated with this account

New member
Total newbie on just purchased HTC Desire - can't get Market download to work - tried many trawled suggestions but can't get my GMail/Market account to recognise my device - so cannae download anything.

Have done a factory reset to re-enter my GMail credentials etc but I suspect something locked on Gmail acc. Also tried resetting phone number in SMS notification and various other clear caches etc etc. Beginning to think that I will return the device, bite my tongue and enter Mr Jobs' cartel racket.

Any help appreciated.
 
I recently bought the HTC Desite Z & have the same problem. I found this on the Google site

Try to see if this works for you. I tried it, but cannot open the market.android site from my HTC. No problem opening the site from my PC though.

have you tried it using a wifi connection? i was going to suggest clearing caches,but you've done that. if a factory reset and re-entering gmail info didn't fix it, i'm stumped. can you enter the market from your phone,or is it simply not connecting at all? maybe try a different market apk?
 
duh -
embarrassing to admit this but I was trying to access market site via browser not the app. Have to say that the documentation was a bit misleading.

However, bottom line is I'm sorted - sorry for wasting anybody's time
