Help...newbie...Sprint Razr to Cricket

I know this is already probably deep within this forum. I have a Sprint Razr phone that I am wanting to use on the Cricket service. What are the steps on doing so? I have a data cable to connect to my PC. What software(s) will I need? I was told that I would need to unlock the phone first.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.
