Hi
I'm wondering if anyone might have some experience or advice for me. Basically i took my 12 year old to the GP as he is having pain in his legs and has swelling in his knee/ calf area on and off. He was sent for bloodtests which found that he has high alkaline phosphatase levels in his liver and on the advice of a consultant his bloods were repeated 2 weeks later. I was told today that his AP levels have fallen slightly, but he is now also anemic and that he needs to take iron pills and have the blood repeated again in 1 months time. They also ruled out hepatitus.
4 Weeks seems to long to me, and i'm concerned and confused as to why he has become anemic 2 weeks later after his initial tests. Plus he is still having terrible trouble with his legs that is stopping him from being able to play his sport which is loves.
It anyone could help me out I would be extremly grateful.
