Does anyone know of any side effects of omerprazole (prisolec).

I have been going on and off it for past 4 months because as soon as its gone into my system after about 2 weeks i feel like C***

But im thinking maybe because i keep stop starting it, its effecting me.

Anyone else share their stories of any nasty side effects pls?

I've been on omeprazole for 10+ years and up till now it's been very effective in controlling my chronic daily heartburn. In the last few months however, my symptoms got worse so my doc doubled my dosage last week. Since then I've been experiencing aweful side effects: diarrhea, headache, dizziness, and anxiety. I'm hoping these are temporary and will subside.

Additionally, I'm very suspicious that my long-term usage of omeprazole was the cause of my IBS. I also think it's contributed to my frequent migraines. I'm thinking of trying a different PPI but I think they all have similar side effects so I don't know of it's worth it.

Please do yourself a favor and look up DIGESTINOL. It is all natural and you will not need the drugs. There are many testimonials. I was on medication two times a day and all it did was nurab me for a certain time. I found the Digesinol and swear by it.

Most people have few side effects, other than nutrient deficiencies with long-term use and the dependency/rebound phenomenon which is by this point well documented. I felt drowsy my first 2 days on it, after that nothing.

When I saw a GI, he tried to switch me to Aciphex and I became very nauseous all the time. I switched back to Prilosec after just a few days.

I should note that I started taking Prilosec for erosive gastritis and inadvertently because dependent on it for several years. DURING this time, I started to experience acid reflux type symptoms for the first time in my life. Quitting hasn't cured them. I can't quite make myself believe there's a causal relationship there, although I kind of want to.
