I am 27 years old with 2 children. I suffer from middle and lower back pain. I am not over weight. and have small breast. I go to the chiropractor every 2 or 3 months. I feel like my spine is so compressed all the time. It hurts when I'm sitting, standing, laying down. Almost all the time I am in pain. I am a very active mom. It honestly never hurt until I had my second child. I had epi's for both. Could that cause this pain? What is this from? Is there anything I can do to fix this problem? I hate being 27 and not being able to pick up my little boy. If its not from the epi then what is it from ? Once again its my lower to middle back. My spine actually hurts. Not muscles. I really need some advice!

Hi there Tiffany737! Well I am not promising any cures, and I am wondering what you are wondering because a very old registered nurse I met told me she was wondering if her epidural or spinal tap and I forgot which had caused her spinal stenosis and she wasn't sure. You can try some things I wrote in post #8 entitled what's next when nothing helps the pain. Someone else in that thread wrote that they used water to lay in. You can also read post #3 I wrote entitled upper back pain and shortness of breath. A third post you could read is entitled "Try a New Topical Pain Cream fingers crossed"
post# 42 that I wrote. I hope some of this helps you. There are some horror stories of bad back surgeries that are on the back board. Do you have a trusted person who could gently rub it for you all the way up and all the way down? hope something helps you.

Hi Tiffany. I'm sorry for all your discomfort and pain. I know it's difficult to get through the day when you hurt all over.

If I were you, I would see an orthopedic spine specialist or a neurosurgeon who specializes in the spine. That does NOT mean surgery is needed, only that these guys are the best at diagnosis back problems. You will probably need an MRI to try to locate any problem areas.

Yes, I have heard stories of people having epidurals during labor who later have back problems, but personally, I would think that to be rather rare. In any case, a spine specialist would be the best one to figure that out for you.

Please stay in touch.

Carol
