Help! My Samsung Flight is acting up!!!?

Okay so i got a samsung flight and now it will make sounds when i text
i will turn up the volume for my ringtone, but when i text it makes annoying noise
can i fix this problem?
HELP!!!
i cant get a new phone till graduation and that'll be a while!
