I dont know much about your car, but a crank sensor that is bad or misaligned.( which could happen during a head gasket repair)
that would cause the car not to start

I have a 1990 740 volvo station wagon and the damn car won't start. The car was blowing white smoke, and it had water in the oil; which is clear indications of a blown head gasket, fine. Well I bought some headgasket repair at Advanced Auto parks, followed all the steps and put that into works. Well I tried to crank it up, but the car wouldn't run. It wasn't clicking it just wouldn't start. So my dad told me it might be the battery, I thought it couldn't be on account the battery is brand freaking new! Turns out it was the battery after all, shit was completly dead. So I replaced the old battery and got a new one. Now the car still won't start! My next step was to drain the oil and put fresh oil in there. If the car doesn't start after I change the oil, what do I do? Because the whole reason for getting the car turned on is to see if the damn Headgasket repair stuff worked, I won't know if it is not turning over.

What should I do??
