hi all i have a honda crm 75cc road bike witch is very simler to the dt 50/125.But i can not for the life of me get it to start i got the bike as a non runner as the guy had lost the keys ( i have the logbook) when i got it home i took the bottom of the barrel of a and turned it with a screwdriver the newtral light came on so i througt great. Anyway when i jumped on the bike and gave it a kick nothing happend so i have
cleaned the carb, checked the spark (very strong) tryed to bump it,checked compression (loads) don't know what else to try any ideas would be great
to be honet the plug was dry but i tipped a little fuel down the sparky hole with a new plug and still no joy did'nt evan fart at all but the spark is very stong cant understand it don't want to take it to the shop cus its got to be something so simple. lol

May be time to look at the timing? Check that it is sparking when the piston is at the top of its stroke for a quick check, and if not you will need to adjust the stator to ensure it does.

Have you set the mixture screw, 1 and a half turns out, check for blocked jets, blocked manifold, anything that has a tube or a hole then clean or replace if necessary.

Could always try a touch of easy start to see if is a fuel problem. Are you sure the choke is not sticking or the throttle cable is not snagged or caught up somewhere?

Have you had the cylinder head off and exhaust to look for any signs of damage to the cylinder and piston. De-coke the head and exhause while you are there.

Just because a plug sparks on the outside it may not spark under the compression so to be on the safe side, try a new plug or a know working plug.

Try the choke in different positions, cant really think of anything else that would be a simple fix. If none of these, or the above answers work then i would actually get a compression reading, but usually you can tell simply by your thumb if theres enough.
