I've been playing the piano for 6 years and the flute for 4. I've self taught piano and ukulele, and I'm at grade 5 flute. So as you can see I'm a fairly musical person. I can read music, and I can pick up any instrument and be able to play it a bit.
Some of my friends and myself plan to start a band, but it won't be a proper one. We'll only perform once or twice every year. I'm to be the drummer for the band. As I'm musical I've got a sense of rhythm; when I listen to a song I can pick out any complicated drum rhythms easily; and I find myself drumming on my legs or on the desk to some of my favourite songs. So it shouldn't be a problem.
The only thing is I've never picked up a drumstick in my life.
I might be able to just sit down at a drum kit and pick a bit up, but I was looking for some pointers. Maybe some tips or videos to help me get started. Like what drums to hit or the pedals or whatever. Sorry, I really know nothing about drumming XD I would be VERY grateful =) Thanks.
