Help me with my 1993 ford econoline?

My power stearing is very loose and it makes me feel like I am driving a bus. Is there a way I can tighten it to make it easier to drive?
 
The steering gearbox on that van is adjustable but the procedure is very touchy to put it mildly ... The gearbox adjustments require the use of very delicate measuring tools and should only be attempted by trained technicians.
 
Three things to check out: Fluid in power steering pump, belt in poor condition or not tight on power steering pump or power steering pump needs flushing or replacement. Do the cheap things first.
