Are they like small thin worms.................?

If so, you better clean your tank, for they sure are caused by filth

They could be any number of things that are not good for your fish. I would recommend doing a 50% water change, if you have been doing regular weekly water changes. If not, do 3 10% water changes back to back. Don't do 30% all at once because then it will kill your fish. Again, this is only if you haven't been doing weekly water changes. If you have, then do 50% water change.

Tomorrow, repeat. 50% if you have been doing water changes regularly. OR three back to back 10% water changes.

Do it again for a third day.

Also, don't feed your fish during this time. They can survive not being fed for three days. On the fourth day, feed them only enough food that they can eat in a minute. If they still seem hungry, put in about half as much as you did before. Then quit. The number one problem for people who keep fish is overfeeding. Fish really only need to eat about once a day, five to six days a week. They are genetically wired to not eat every day, just like wild fish. Rumor says that a fish's stomach is only about as big as its eye. I don't know how true this is, but it could very well be true.

After the water changes and less feeding, you shouldn't see any small creatures. Some of them could be harmless, like planaria. Others could actually be very bad for fish. There really is no way of telling without seeing it under a magnifying glass in person. Water changes heal a lot of things.
