Help me understand my roommate (drama pt. 2)?

I have a cabinet in the kitchen where I keep my pots and pans in 2 stacks. So the other day, my roommate went on a cereal shopping spree and moved my stuff into 1 stack and put 5 boxes of cereal in my area. Today, I nicely put my things back in its original position and put her cereal on the refrigerator. This resulted in a big argument. I know you're probably thinking that I should have spoke to her first but she's a poor communicator so it would have resulted the same way.
She thinks that she was right for moving my things and I was wrong for moving her things because I moved the cereal to a new location without her permission.
I don't understand her logic. She moved my stuff just like I did hers. That was MY area (ever since last semester Aug 2010). If she needed some space she could have asked ME. Could you possibly help me understand why she feels this way? I think that she is plain selfish.
@ RonJon It was the right battle. Trust me! I thought about every single option. One thing I will not tolerate is disrespect. Her moving my things was tacky. Bottom line is that was MY area. Some battles are worth fighting.

@ Izzabelle "Sounds like to me that you are damned if you do and damned if you don't" That's exactly how I feel!
When we moved in I thought we were going to discuss about it. But, they had already put there things up. But, I didn't say anything about it then because it wasn't too big of an issue at the time.
@ RonJon LOL! I am not going to label the cabinets. Now that's taking it too far. I'm calm now :)
