What I remember is that is was some sort of adventure game, it was in black and white, you could choose different cardinal directions to move in, and I think there was a basic menu to choose options from. The player would encounter things like a t-rex, a black knight, and other enemies. There were all sorts of weapons to be found such as guns, swords, and grenades. I remember one particular line which was "The t-rex licks his chops." Seems like sometimes the enemies would just taunt you, instead of attacking? Any help would be great. The game was around before 1998.
