I remember a book (it was from a couple of years ago, but it was FABULOUS) but I can't remember the title. It was about a boy who found a video game from his father who worked in some kind of Japanese Video Game Company and he started playing it but couldn't figure it out at first, due to there being no instructions. Eventually he realises you have to navigate your character to a rocket ship.
He shows it to his friend who also becomes obsessed. A bully named Mario also ends up joining them, along with a girl. They start seeing black figures everywhere (from the game) in real life and start going insane.
They end up INSIDE the game, and have to use blasters and things to overcome the games challenges.
That's all I can remember, anyone know what I'm talking about?
