I've been trying to find a specific movie for a very long time now...It starts with a little boy/girl (can't remember which) asking their dad to check the closet for monsters. As it turns, there's nothing there when the father checks, but after the father leaves the boy/girl looks at the closet, something contorts its way out of the closet and the boy/girl screams, thus ending the first part of the movie.
The movie continues on with the creatures terrorizing and such (for the life of me I can't remember most of the scenes).
The few parts I do remember, a man is up in his studio, painting/drawing, and the electronics in the area start to fritz and turn off, leading up to the creatures attacking him.
The second scene I remember is the main character(girl) is driving through a marshy area and her car electronics also fritz and eventually turn off, so she decides to get out and look at her car, a suspenseful "look-a-round" scene ensues but nothing happens and she simply turns back on her car and leaves.
One of the main things that might help with the discovery of the movie is that the creatures cause electrical disturbances, as that seems to be their "harbinger".
Thank you for any help you can give me...and no, I'm not thinking of Alone In the Dark.
