i've been looking at phones for what seems like forever and i've settled on the four android phones available for either sprint or verizon. Both these providers have full coverage in my area with 3g data. (ATT has nothing in my county, and t-mobile has no 3g and spotty voice coverage)
So my choices are
1) Moto droid
2) HTC Droid Eris
3) Samsung Moment
4) HTC Hero
*i THINK i want the droid, followed by the eris, then the moment (mainly because i just found out about it today and have been playing with the vzw phones for weeks) , and i'll be honest i don't think i'm really too keen on the hero, i'd rather have verizon and the eris seems to be the sameas the hero.
reasons i like/dislike each phone:
droid:
like - awesome specs, i like the design, android 2.0, vanilla android means i can run numerous home replacements, screen
don't like - ****** keyboard (both soft and hard) soft buttons tend to get pressed by accident
eris:
like - my favorite looking/feel in the hand phone, senseUI (specifically sense keyboard), multitouch implemented throughout the phone
dislike - rumors of horrible battery (i am a power user, i am on my phone pulling data throughout the day), smaller and lower res screen. android 1.5 for now, rumors that it is underpowered and suffers from lag.
moment:
like - keyboard, screen, form factor
dislike - i dunno, screen isn't as good as droids, i haven't really played with one yet....
hero:
like - same as eris
dislike - same as eris, but its on sprint and verizon is the better carrier (though a few buck more per month for service)
i'd really appreciate any input you guys can offer... i'm looking to buy in a few weeks, so if i hear anything new about the htc dragon/passion/bravo that will most likely also enter the mix, but i'm tired of rumors and ready to buy so for now these are my top picks.....
