okay here the problems I have a 2000 ford f150 with 200,000 miles. Recently the car can't accelerate more then 35 miles/hr. When i come to a total stop the car itself make a noise and goes extremely slow, till it picks up speed to 35 miles/hr. The car just goes really slow till it can reach a certain speed. I went to various mechanics and each one of them suggest a different problem to me. I started to search around here to see people with similar problems and these are some of the things that could be wrong

1)Fuel filter
2)ignition module
3)fuel pump

The mechanics are crooks around here because they said pretty dum diagnose like one said the cylinder is not working so he will have to dismantle the car to adjust to proper cylinder. Another mechanic said it was that the car needs a new transmission. Another said he needs to clean the gas tank and wanted to charge me $500.00!!!!!!!

I regularly get an oil change, change the air filter like a month ago, but problem did not improve. What can be wrong with this car?

I live in florida so it not an issue of the weather.
my car has been acting like this for a month now and still have not improve. The thing is the accleration does not kick in. it goes soo slow and does not pick up any speed till i have driving for awhile. The maximum speed it will go is 35 and when I force it to go faster it just makes this really bad thumping noise. So I rarely force it anymore.

If the vehicle is a 2000 model you can take it to an o'reily, autozone, advanced auto, or the name brand auto parts dealer closest to you and have them perform a diagnostics test on it. This will more than likely be more truthful than any shadetree mechanics and you can also find out how much parts will cost to fix the problems then you can narrow it down to how much their charging for labor.

I don't know the answer but try to find a small repair shop. Ask a sr that is still driving. They may know a legit mechanic. Good luck

In order of likelihood based on your symptoms:
1. restricted exhaust.
2. low fuel pressure.
3. EEC concern.
