I just found out I am being sued via the small Claims court.
The case is all about a guy I employed to do some work for me, who I sacked because he was rubbish.
He is claiming I owe him a substantial amount of money (for the job he didn't do)
He claims he has a contract that I signed stating that even if I sacked him i still had to pay him for completing the job.
I never signed any contract.
He also lied on the claim about how much I had paid for his services, he has increased the about charged to make it look like I only partially paid him (on the three occasions I paid him) but I have invoices from him stating how much a was to pay, and as I paid him by cheque I have bank statements that tally with the invoices.

His whole case is based on this contract that he claims I signed.

How can I prove that I never signed any contract with him?

How do I fight this?
